Mare Imbrium

Mare Imbrium

Mare Imbrium is one of the largest craters within the solar system. Its exact age is not well known but it is believed to be several billions of years old. It was formed when lava filled a very large impact crater.

The lunar terminator can be seen in the upper left, the Moon phase was waxing Gibbous being 10 days old.
