South West

This section shows the south west area of the Moon. There are lots of points of interest within this image including the following.

• Craters
  • Clavius
  • Schiller
  • Longomontanus
  • Blancanus
• Palus Epidemarium (near the top)
• Mare Nubium (the edge of it is near the top)
• Mare Humorum (top left corner)
• There are also rilles within this image the most notable being near the top running through Mare Nubium and Palus Epidemarium

The Moon was 9.1 days old when this image was taken.

The lunar terminator can be seen along the right edge of the image, the Moon phase was last quarter being 22.6 days old.
